Important Details

Your child's bus route will begin at the given start time. Even if your child's stop is later in the route, we recommend that you arrive at the bus stop earlier than the route start time for the first few days of school until you get a better sense of the bus arrival time. We unfortunately are unable to return to stops so students must arrive at their stops on time. Routes may change throughout the school year to accommodate the needs of the students. If routes and/or times are adjusted, information will be sent promptly to parents and students and updated in PowerSchool.

Transportation FAQs

How do I find the routes that are offered by South Shore Tech?

Your child's bus route will begin at the given start time. Even if your child's stop is later in the route, we recommend that you arrive at the bus stop by the route start time for the first few days of school until you get a better sense of the bus arrival time. We unfortunately are unable to return to stops so students must arrive at their stops on time. Routes may change throughout the school year to accommodate the needs of the students.

What should I do if we are moving to a new address?

All address changes should be submitted through the parent/guardian’s PowerSchool account. If unable to use PowerSchool please contact Student Services. Call 781-878-8822 ext. 430.

How do I know my child will be safe on the School Bus?

All South Shore Tech School Buses are equipped with video and audio surveillance and a GPS. All the School Bus Drivers are properly trained, licensed and certified through Massachusetts RMV and Department of Transportation.

What if my child has split time between multiple addresses?

Parent/Guardians should submit all addresses that their child may need transportation to and the Transportation Coordinator will assign the student to those respective routes.

What if my child is getting their license and vehicle?

The student should submit a Parking Permit form for their vehicle. Please note: This form is available through Powerschool in the Forms section on the Student Portal. Parent/Guardians will be able to view this form from the Parent Portal but the STUDENT must fill out this form. If at any point your child needs bus transportation they should be at the bus stop before the stated arrival time.

What if my child’s bus stop is on a busy roadway or seems unsafe?

Parents/Guardians should reach out to the Transportation Coordinator (syard@ssvotech.org or 781-499-7452) with their concerns. Please allow some time for the Transportation Coordinator to investigate and find a resolution to the situation.

What happens to the School Buses during school delays?

Any school delays will come from the Superintendent's office and the School Buses will adjust their schedules accordingly to the time delay. So for instance, if there is a two-hour delay, a bus stop pick up normally at 7:15 will instead have a 9:15 pick up time.

What time do the School Bus routes start in the morning?

On each School Bus Stop List we’ve provided estimated times for each stop on each route. Since these are estimates the times may vary due to traffic, weather, and construction delays. Our Professionally Trained School Bus Drivers will try their best to maintain these times.

Are there late buses for my child if they stay after school?

South Shore Tech offers 2 late bus departures from the school in the afternoon, 4:00p and 6:00p. For each departure time there will be 2 late bus routes that offer consolidated stops in each town. These drop off locations will likely not be the same as your child's typical drop off location after the 2:25 dismissal.

How many School Bus Routes does South Shore Tech offer?

South Shore Tech offers 12 routes for the 8 towns that make up the South Shore Regional School District.
