Summer Camp 2021

South Shore Tech will be offering Summer Camp for incoming 6th, 7th & 8th Graders. Camps include Graphics, Horticulture & Metal Fabrication.

Horticulture One Week Summer Program

Gain knowledge in the growing green industry in Horticulture/Landscape Construction at South Shore Technical High School. During the week of July 12th to July 16th, students will explore something new each day. They will design and install a practice walkway/patio, propagate plants from seed and cuttings, adjust and install a lawn sprinkler system, and learn to tie arbor knots/climb trees. Students will explore the tools/materials available in the shop working with brick splitters, trowels, stone, soils, and seeds.

Students will have the opportunity to explore:

  • Hardscape Construction and Design
  • Plant Propagation
  • Arboriculture and Knot Tying
  • Irrigation Installation 

Graphics One Week Summer Program

Empower your artist this summer with a week of art and design programming at South Shore Technical High School. During the week of July 19th to July 23rd, students will explore something new each day. They will draw, paint, sculpt, print and more. Students will explore the tools available in the shop working with screen printing, embroidery, photography and computer based programs such as photoshop and illustrator on a Macintosh computer. 

Students will have the opportunity to explore:

  • Painting 
  • Screen printing and embroidery 
  • Photography 
  • Developing large format posters
  • An Introduction to Photoshop
  • Creating notepads and buttons

Metal Fabrication & Welding One Week Summer Program

Experience hands-on technical training this summer with a week of metal fabrication and welding at South Shore Technical High School. During the week of July 12th to July 16th, students will explore something new each day. They will measure, cut, weld, grind, use machinery and more. Students will explore the tools available in the shop working with  mig welding, stick welding, shears, brakes and our computer based CNC plasma cutter. 

Students will have the opportunity to explore:

  • Plasma cutting
  • Bending metal
  • Creating a hanging sign
