Dates: 7/11-7/15 & 7/18-7/22
Times: 8am-12pm
Grade Level: 6th-8th

Get behind a saw and swing a hammer. Build a box that rocks, a boat that floats, and more for sure. In the Summer Carpentry Camp students learn to read plans, cut lumber, and assemble projects in wood all while learning to safely use basic tools and techniques. During the weeks of July 11th-15th and July 18th-22nd, students will build a new project everyday and take it home to show off their construction skills.
During camp students will learn a wide range of valuable carpentry skills such as:

  • Safety
  • Measuring
  • Building from Plans
  • Sawing
  • Drilling
  • Fastening
  • Sanding
  • Gluing
  • Assembly

Students will also learn abstract reasoning, applied mathematics, problem solving, craftsmanship, fine motor skills, and patience. As always we emphasize safety in our shop.

Please note: Students are encouraged to bring a snack and a drink.
