Automotive Summer Program

How many of you attended a summer camp as a kid? Was it all fun and games, or did you learn a new skill? Experience hands-on technical training this summer with a week of Automotive Technology at South Shore Technical. During the weeks of July 11th-15th and July 18th-22nd, students will explore new skills each day. Students will learn about the four major sections of an automobile; the body, the chassis, drivetrain, and the internal combustion engine/electric motor. They will learn safety practices as well as experience and practice use of automotive specialty hand tools and repair equipment. Projects will include both traditional and experimental methods.
Students will have the opportunity to explore:

  • Internal Combustion Engine Rebuilding
  • Lubrication Oil and Filter Service
  • Tire Mounting & Balancing
  • Create Chemical Reaction Vehicle
